I am part of a long-standing nonprofit in Cookeville (the GFWC Cookeville Jr. Woman's Club). This year our club is trying to add value to West End Park by planting trees that are native or food baring. About a year ago, the park lost one of its oldest and largest trees -- a big Sycamore. The stump stood as a big reminder of its loss. The City is planning to grind out the stump. Meredith Tree Service and Brad Sells & Bark Studio worked together to preserve a large part of that stump, so the West End community can make art out of the wood. The Food Forest Friends think that old tree shows a lot of the West End Community's history in its rings. Working with Meredith Tree Service was so easy and he was so gracious. He cut the stump off and delivered it to Brad as a donation to the West End community and our club. I'm really grateful. [EDIT: I'm not sure why it says this is coming from CA... I'm in Cookeville.]

Cory has got tree work in his blood. Meredith Tree Service was started by his father and Cory has acquired lots of experience and knowledge over the years. My wife and I have used Cory and his crew several times, and we find he gives good advice regarding what needs to be done with any particular tree, doesn't push you into cutting trees that don't really need cutting, and helps you decide what does need to be done. His crew does the necessary work efficiently and cleans up beautifully afterwards. And, Cory is willing to undertake unusual jobs-- such as turning a big tree trunk into a cat bridge across a stream gully-- that most tree trimmers would probably not want to fool with.
